International Organization for Migration (IOM). (2004). Changing Patterns and Trends of Trafficking in Persons in the Balkan Region.  Assessment carried out in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Province of Kosovo, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Moldova. 108 p. "On the basis of the assessment, funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency, recommendations could be made for tackling the new dimensions of the problem, in terms of response and of prevention, to the relevant authorities, including IOM, law enforcement agencies and government. The assessment was conducted on two separate but interlinked dimensions: Victims of trafficking and victims' assistance and protection and Organized crime and law enforcement reaction."

International Organization for Migration (IOM). (2003). Protection Schemes for Victims of Trafficking in Selected EU Member Countries, Candidate and Third Countries. 104 p. This publication highlights research undertaken to develop new approaches in policy and operational approaches of protection schemes among officials involved in combating trafficking. Also seeks to improve the level of expertise of participants on assistance to and protection of victims of trafficking (including ten case studies on Albania, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, The Netherlands, Spain, Ukraine), to strengthen and extend cooperation and exchange of information on good practices, and devise and disseminate durable solutions and recommendations.

Kleij, A. (2003). Provisions for Victims of Trafficking in Bonded Sexual Labour, i.e. Prostitution In six European Countries. 92 p. This report aims to list existing legislative and policy initiatives at international, European, and national levels; initiatives that provide victims of trafficking with protection and assistance once they decide to press charges against the trafficker. We focussed on the provisions in six European countries (Belgium, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom) with regard to national legislation and policies for female victim of ‘Trafficking in Human Beings for Sexual Exploitation’ that are at least 18 years old.
